Our story
Since 2001, KooKoo has been developing, manufacturing and selling alarm, cuckoo and special wall clocks, featuring authentic recordings of birdsongs, animal sounds, christmas carols and children’s songs. "To hear the time“ is, what drives us. The product family also includes an exclusive MAN truck clock, with a different vehicle roaring every hour on the hour. Most of the clocks have a built-in light sensor, to make sure that animal lovers sleep at night. The fresh and modern design of KooKoo clocks makes them an eye-catcher in any part of the home. KooKoo has been working with Maia Ming Designs (www.maiamingdesigns.com). Based in Barcelona and graduated from Stanford university in product design, Maia Ming has many years’ experience in product development.
The KooKoo headquarter is located in Hallbergmoos, nearby Munich Airport in Germany. Warehouses are located in Augsburg and Los Angeles. For US B2C national delivery we use Amazon.com MCF logistic services.
KooKoo wall clocks play one of twelve original recordings every hour on the hour to ensure a good mood. Domestic songbirds such as blackbird, oriole, robin or cuckoo sound amazingly good, you have the feeling of being in the nature.
Singing birds makes bring joy and happiness. Natural auditive experience are important for humans. They are good for body and soul and ensure that we feel comfortable. KooKoo sound recordings origin from the famous French ornithologist Jean Claude Roché (www.jeanroche.fr), who has been recording bird and animal sounds for over 50 years. His sound library now contains over 27,000 recordings and he has published numerous audio books, CDs and albums. Today he lives very secluded in the south of France.
The "BirdHouse" wall clock with quartz movement is available in white and black and as Limited Edition (4 colorful painted cabinets). It is delivered with four colored pendulum discs and birds. A bird pops out through a little door every hour on the hour and the voice of a local songbird or the call of the cuckoo sounds. The clear, simple design puts the traditional cuckoo clock in the limelight and fits into every furnishing concept - whether as a break in style, eye-catcher or a subtle classic reinterpreted.
